Comprehensive Plan – 2014
September 08, 2014
The Plan, a revision of the Town’s 1993 Comprehensive Plan, offers a framework for guiding future growth and development in the Town over the next 10 to 20 years. It was developed using input from Town residents and stakeholders gathered from a survey and numerous meetings held over the last several years. The Plan maintains the Town’s priority for ensuring protection of farmland and open space while also ensuring the quality and livability of the Town’s business and residential neighborhoods.
A public comment period on the DGEIS was held from March 27, 2014 through May 5, 2014, with a public hearing held on April 22, 2014 at the Ithaca Town Hall. Following the public comment period, a Final Generic Environmental Impact Statement (FGEIS) was prepared. This document includes Town’s responses to the comments on the DGEIS, as well as copies or summaries of the comments received. The Town Board accepted the Final Generic Environmental Impact Statement (FGEIS) at their meeting on August 11, 2014.
On September 8, 2014, the Comprehensive Plan was officially adopted by a unanimous vote of the Town Board.
