Public Information Session: Flood Insurance and New FEMA Flood Maps

The City of Ithaca in collaboration with the Town of Ithaca and Tompkins County, invites residents to a public information session on Tuesday, July 15, 2025 at 6:00 PM at Ithaca Town Hall (215 N Tioga St, Ithaca) to learn about the impacts of FEMA’s updated flood maps and the importance of flood insurance coverage.

This event is open to all City, Town, and County residents, and will feature a presentation and Q&A with Val Van Gorder of Bailey Place Insurance, alongside municipal planning staff.

Topics will include:

The updated FEMA flood maps may affect insurance requirements and premiums for many property owners in the City of Ithaca and Tompkins County. Attendees will have the opportunity to ask questions, get guidance from experts, and better understand the implications for their homes or properties.

This event will be a hybrid virtual meeting via zoom and a video recording of the presentation will be made available on the City’s website and YouTube channel. Please see below the Zoom meeting information.
