Noise Permit
The Town adopted a Noise Ordinance to address complaints regarding unusual or unreasonably loud noise. The law includes a process to apply for a Noise Permit if you believe you may be having an event or function that will produce unusual or loud noise, such as using amplified instruments. The noise permit process does not mean a permit is necessarily required, but instead gives the Town the opportunity to review details, ask questions, and determine whether a reasonable person would consider that the details provided rise to the level of requiring a permit. If so, the Town Board would advertise and hold a public hearing to hear comments from neighbors, weigh any impacts of the proposed noise on the community at large and either grant or deny a permit.
